[TW- infringement of cultures]

I’m so done with people of many different cultures getting all butthurt when people use an article of their culture to relay an artist message/fashion statement. We got these asian chicks up in here freaking out that grunge girls put chopsticks in their hair. “Do you realize how stupid you look? Might as well stick forks in your hair.” You know what? IF THEY LIKED THE LOOK OF FORKS IN THEIR HAIR THEY’D WEAR THEM. They’re not “infringing” on anyone’s culture ok? They’re not wearing them because they’re “asian”. They saw something they liked, they copied it. That’s what fashion is. It has nothing to do with the culture that the style is coming from. No one’s making fun of anyone*. This goes for the people who freak out about gauged ears, tribal prints, Native American indian headdresses, geisha costumes, calaveras de azùcar, grass skirts, royal feathers etc…

White girl doesn’t have a leg to stand on? I’m Colombian, and I sure as hell would not be offended if anyone dressed up and a coffee grower, called himself Juan and sold platanos in the street. Riding a donkey. While he snorted cocaine. Off his machete. 

*-Obviously if someone’s specifically targeting a certain culture with cruel intentions they’re not the people I’m talking about here. Fuck them.
